This summer will be my 10th year teaching at my home in Scituate (with approximately 20+ years experience)!  My program is held in my toasty warm 86 degree heated pool.  All lessons (unless noted) are mixed level swimmers with an instructor:student ratio of 1:3-4.  My philosophy towards teaching comes from a very play based model.  I strongly believe that if kids are not having fun and enjoying themselves, it will be impossible for them to find the space to trust instructors and learn one of the most important life skills!  I try to make it a priority, at every class, to teach the importance of water safety at an age appropriate level.  Not only water safety around pools but ALL types, oceans, rivers, lakes, etc.  Classes are held rain or shine and as long as there is no thunder and lightning, we will ALWAYS swim!

Having the opportunity to teach your kids how to swim has been and continues to be one of the highlights of my year.  Every child deserves the opportunity to learn to swim!!   Not to be depressing, but drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4 and the second leading cause of death for children ages 5-14.  A few years back the American Academy of Pediatrics changed the age recommendation for a child to start swimming lessons from 4 years old to 1 year old.
